O-Sensei James V. Morrone, Jr.

Founder, Japanese Shotokan Karate-Do Association

July 18, 1944 – March 4, 2006

James V. Morrone, Jr. began training in Shotokan karate in 1967.  His early years of training were brutal under the lead of David Kostenchuk.  Training with a small group of men, in a backyard garage, discipline impacted those men and Sensei Morrone to return day after day after day.  Mr. Kostenchuk had just returned from training in Japan with the Japan Karate Federation, Chidokan Dojo, Chief Instructor - Takashi Sasaki.

Sensei Morrone, achieving the rank of Sho-dan, after failing the test three times, set out to begin teaching.
